I have been sharing on this internet recipe site for almost 3 years now, and have to frequently pinch myself when I realize what this space has brought me. Friendship through the internet (and real life!) between bloggers and readers, a passion for sharing healthy recipe inspiration, and a confidence in writing and recipe development.
Next weekend, I will be traveling to Vermont for Blog Brûlée – the second year of the intimate, experiential weekend shared among a small number of healthy food bloggers and Registered Dietitian bloggers who participate in the Recipe Redux or Healthy Aperture. I have been particpating in the Recipe Redux since January 2014 (see the posts here!), so I am excited to meet so many familiar faces in person next weekend!
Disclosure: My attendance at the Blog Brûlée is partially funded by Sponsors of the Blog Brûlée (see below), and I received a discounted registration to the event in exchange for writing this post. Opinions expressed are my own. I was not compensated for my time.
So what does it take to move this community around healthy living and healthy recipes on the internet into real life?
The opportunity to network with these registered dietitian bloggers and healthy food bloggers through the Recipe Redux has been invaluable, though limited by being virtual. There is nothing like getting to chat around a table of snacks. Getting to hear from one another in a group conversation, out loud. Sharing skills and resources and ideas for growth. It wouldn’t be possible without these sponsors below!

I hope that Blog Brûlée helps me expand my network of friendships through this space, but more than that, I hope it begins to teach me the skills I need to merge this love for healthy recipes and recipe sharing into my professional goals in public health.
With so many different perspectives to hear from, I already know I will be taking all the notes I can between laughing and sharing snacks and clinking wine glasses. Join in the fun by following my Instagram from September 11-13!
